In my search for new and innovative, healthy recipes to test, I recently stumbled upon and tried the healthy pumpkin pie smoothie recipe posted by Optimum Nutrition on their website. I was a bit leery to test this healthy smoothie recipe as I am not a really big fan of pumpkin pie, however, I had every ingredient already in my pantry aside from the pumpkin filling, so I decided to give it a shot. Be sure to visit Optimum Nutrition and try some Gold Standard Whey if you have not. It’s one of the best whey protein powders on the market today. {read rest of the review below}.
This smoothie would definitely be considered a healthy pumpkin recipe as we only added 50 calories worth of pumpkin to our smoothie, meaning the total number of calories is 50 plus whatever is in your protein powder. My healthy pumpkin smoothie could have used a bit more pumpkin spice and maybe a little less pumpkin filling, but overall, for someone who wasn’t a big fan of pumpkin, I really enjoyed the smoothie and would definitely make it again.
