This is a breakfast that I eat almost daily. It is very simple, as it only involves 3 ingredients. This is an easy way to prepare oatmeal, and add a a little healthy flavor to it via the protein powder, rather than sugary toppings. The final product as I make it contains 340 calories, 8 grams fat (my protein contains 6g per scoop) and 28 grams protein. Plus, you get all the heart healthy benefits of the oatmeal, 9 g fiber (my protein contains 5 grams), and it will keep you feeling full longer than other breakfast cereals.
1 scoop protein powder
1/2 cup whole grain quick oats
1/2 cup (slightly more) water
Mix all ingredients in a bowl, and microwave on high for 80-90 seconds. Enjoy!
