I have tried numerous pre-workout supplements over the years. Most of them have been pretty good, some of them have been great, a couple of been awful, but Scream from bodybuilding.com is at or very near the top of my list.
Scream contains a great profile. The main highlights are:
The nice thing about the ingredients in Scream is that they cover all bases of what a pre-workout should include. You get your BCAAs to provide energy while you train, and support muscle growth. You get L-Citrulline to enhance NO levels. You also get Creapure, one of the purest forms of creatine for increased performance. Another key ingredient is beta-alanine which is the rate limiting co-factor for Carnitine (carnitine helps improve strength, endurance, and recovery). This basically means, more beta-alanine around= more carnitine. Add in Sustamine (a combo of L-glutamine and L-alanine) and a whopping 300mg of caffeine, and you got yourself a Complete Pre-Workout Supplement.
Bodybuilding.com got this one right. Whether it be the combination of ingredients, the dosages of the ingredients, or both, my experience with Scream was awesome. I had tremendous energy heading into my workout and sustained it through my entire workout. I was able to smash through more sets and more reps of bench presses and incline presses than I have done before. I also had a great pump throughout my chest and my whole upper body. Just a great performing product.
As for the taste: I had the blue raspberry flavor, and it had a pretty good taste. It tasted similar to a blue jolly rancher, with no strange flavor and no weird after-taste.
A 20 serving tub sells for $28 on bodybuilding.com. At first thought, this seems a little high, however, one scoop/serving should do the trick, (some may even get by with 1/2 a serving) while other pre-workout supplements may require you to take 1.5-2 servings to reach the full effect. So in the end, the price seems about right. I would definitely recommend this product, and I actually plan on incorporating it into my own personal stack.
