BSN is known for putting out great products. I have yet to be dissatisfied with a BSN supplement that I have tried. I have heard tons of great things about their protein product Syntha-6, and I was very eager to try it.
Syntha-6 is a blend of a few different proteins. It is not 100% whey. It contains a protein matrix complex comprised of whey protein concentrate, whey protein isolate, micellar casein, calcium caseinate, egg albumen, and glutamine peptides. Therefore, Syntha-6 is going to be digested by our bodies over a period of time, and the proteins are going to fuel your body for an extended period.
Each scoop of Syntha-6 contains:
200 calories 22 grams of protein 6 grams of fat 2 grams of sugar
This is a pretty solid line-up. The protein content per scoop seems to be on par with most of the other protein supplements out there. The fat content is a little higher than I am accustomed to for a protein product, but it isn't too bad.
Moving on to taste and mixability. This was the main question for me going in. I new the nutritional profile was going to be solid with a BSN product, however, I was a little nervous about the taste. I am typically a vanilla protein fan, and in this review I had the chocolate cake batter flavor. However, doing their best to exceed my expectations, BSN nailed the chocolate cake batter flavor. It was awesome. It tasted like chocolate milk. I mixed 1 scoop with about 8oz of water. It mixed great, had about the same consistency and taste of chocolate milk.
In review, the profile is solid, the taste is excellent, and a price of $46.99 on bodybuilding.com, this product is a good choice. As I stated in the video, I could see myself using Syntha-6 for morning shake, or for a snack later in the evening.
