I typically drink about 1-2 whey protein shakes per day. I like to have one in the morning after my breakfast, and I also like to take some whey protein in post workout. In this video review, I just finished up a workout, and I am following it up with some whey protein. This is my review of Cellucor's Cor Performance Whey in the Cor Fetti Cake Batter flavor.
I have had Cor Performance Whey before, only in the cinnamon swirl flavor. It was freaking awesome. I downed that tub pretty fast. I am a big vanilla protein fan, and I love cake, so I was looking forward to this flavor.
Cor Performance at a glance: 130 calories 25 grams protein 3 carbs (1 sugar) 1 gram fat
Pretty rock solid nutrition facts. Slightly lower than normal fat content for a whey blend. So that is good. And 25 grams of protein and only 1 gram of sugar, that is a good ratio.
Next up is flavor and mixability. The protein mixed up very well. The only thing that didn't mix were the sprinkles (as seen in the video), and this was expected. As for the flavor... it tasted more like a vanilla protein powder than what I would consider a cake batter. I did notice maybe I hint of "cake batter" flavor, but it was mainly a vanilla flavor that was most noticeable. Albeit, the flavor was very good for a vanilla flavor and it was easily drinkable.
I would probably still go with the cinnamon swirl flavor over cake batter, but this one might be pretty nice for baking, protein oatmeal, etc.
