The Peeps over at Champion Performance were awesome enough to send over some of their products to try out. This is my review of their Pure Whey Plus protein powder, in Vanilla Ice Cream flavor.
The stuff consists of a micro-filtered cold processed whey, whey isolate, and hydrolyzed isolate. The supplement facts are pretty typical of what you'd find with a whey protein powder, including:
PER SCOOP: 130 calories 22 grams protein 2 grams fat 4 grams sugar
These facts are great, but the deciding factors in choosing a protein powder usually boil down to taste and mixability. Now let me tell you, Pure Whey Plus was pretty rock solid in the taste and mixability categories.
Vanilla protein powder is my go-to protein. I love the stuff, and Pure Whey Plus was excellent. It had good smooth vanilla flavor. The powder also mixed up very well and I was NOT left with any clumps, residue, or other precipitates.
All in all, this was one solid protein powder all the way around. At just under $50 for a 4.8 lb tub, the price is right in line as well.
