The Complete Nutrition store in Grand Forks, ND was nice enough to hook me up with a few samples of their products recently. One of those products was Pro Complete Titan protein powder in the chocolate flavor. This is a blended, prolonged release protein powder made up of 5 different protein sources. The nutrient profile looked awesome from the start, and I was excited to try it.
Highlights:
Now, at first glance, this seems pretty awesome. 45 grams of protein per scoop! The package seemed pretty thick, so I decided to measure it out. I grabbed an average size scooper from one of my other protein powders and measure out my 1 serving sample packet.... It came out to 2 regular sized scoops. So, now while 45 grams of protein, and 16 grams BCAAs, and 21 grams glutamine seemed awesome per serving, it is a bit misleading, in the fact that one scoop of Titan= 2 regular sized scoops. In any case, the nutrition profile is still pretty good.
Now on to the taste and mixabiity. I had the Gluta-Milk Chocolate flavor. The taste was pretty decent. It had good chocolate flavor, nothing outstanding. I rated it a 7/10 for taste. The product, however, did not mix very well in the recommended amount of water. It was very clumpy even after my vigorous shaking :) I rated it a 4/10 for mixability.
In conclusion, the product label is a bit misleading, however the nutrient content is still pretty darn good. When taking into account the taste and mixabiity, I would probably only purchasing this product if it goes on one hell of a sale.
