I have always known about Cytosport, but never really taken a ton of their supplements. I'm not sure if it is their naming or branding, but "Muscle Milk " has never really appealed to me - that is until I actually got a hold of the package and read what was actually in it. Muscle Milk is a post-workout supplement that has roughly a 2:1 protein to carb ratio. Muscle Milk consists of a blend of multi-source proteins, functional fats, low-sugar carbohydrates and 20 vitamins and minerals. Muscle Milk is also lactose-free.

Cytosport hit me up with a sweet little sample pack that contained Muscle Milk, Monster Pump and Monster Amino samples. I consumed this sample of Muscle Milk after a Stronglifts workout and it was OK. I have never really taken strawberry protein powder before so I wasn't too sure what to expect. It tasted OK, but I wouldn't run out and buy a tub of this flavor. I'd probably stick to chocolate or cookies and cream. It did mix very well with very few chunks floating around.

Highlights:

  • Cytosport has been around since 1998 and are a reputable brand.
  • Nutrient profile was good. 32g protein and 18g carbs. Did have 12g of fat, but for me I can handle that at my current body fat percentage level. (If you can't look for a whey isolate)
  • Taste was OK - for me I would give it a 6/10. If I had a full tub, I would down the entire thing, but wouldn't really like it
  • Overall, I'd give Muscle Milk as a whole a buy recommendation when the price is right. They have tons of flavors so you should be able to find one you like
