Competitors Training

The Competitors Training blog (a.k.a. "Comp Train") is ran by Ben Bergeron, owner and Head Coach of CrossFit New England in Natick, MA. It is intended for those hoping to qualify for CrossFit Regionals and The Games. The programming on this site is broken down into "Open Athletes" and "Regional & Games Athletes". Ben posts new workouts every day and there is a solid group of members who do the workouts and post to the comments every day as well.

Invictus CrossFit Programming

Invictus is actually a CrossFit Box located in California that has recently made some of their CrossFit programming free to the public. According to Invictus: "We believe CrossFit provides a platform to empower individuals to conquer the seemingly impossible. We help our clients overcome perceived obstacles daily by providing them with the skills and encouragement to achieve their full potential and exceed their own expectations. Through this process an indomitable spirit is forged—INVICTUS."

Invictus has broken their programming down into three different subsets including: Fitness, Performance, and Competition. This makes it easy for us to decide which to follow based on our goals.

The Outlaw Way

Finally, one of the other popular resources for free CrossFit programming is "The Outlaw Way". Outlaw has a very comprehensive training philosophy that you should read. It is difficult to sum it up here in a few sentences. I can tell you that The Outlaw Way programming is definitely more focused on olympic lifting and variations of those lifts (off blocks, pauses, high pulls, etc). Outlaw always has many people who follow their programming show-up at regionals and at the Games so you can rest assured, this is quality CrossFit programming.
