Here is another example of how to incorporate the German Volume Training (GVT) method into your regular workout routine. Prior to this video, I completed my bench press pyramid, then I used the GVT method to finish off my chest.. This way, I performed some heavy bench sets, and got a good variety of heavy weight/low reps and low weight/high reps. This is important to me because I want to keep an even balance of size plus strength. The exercises and sets/reps are listed below:
First: perform your bench press pyramid If you do not know have a bench press pyramid chart, calculate and print one here (not included in the video)
Flat bench flyes: 10 sets/10 reps/ 10 sec rest between sets
3 minute rest
Incline DB press: 10 sets/ 10 reps/ 10 sec rest between sets
Barbell Bench Press: 10 sets/ 10 reps/ 10 sec rest between sets
