I have been eating healthy and working out for years. Now and then I find myself in a rut - I end up eating the same things over...and over...and over. Chicken, fish, frozen veggies, protein shakes and natrual peanut butter pretty much sum-up my life. There are times when I just want to break the mold and give something else a shot - something I have not eaten in a while, but that I know is good for me and loaded with health benefits. One of those foods that does this for me is Asparagus. I love me some asparagus and grilled salmon. Everytime I eat asparagus I just think to myself "why do I not eat this more often??" Taste is awesome, health benefits are off the chart, but for some reason I always pass it by in the grocery store... This post will focus on the health benefits of asparagus and then touch on one easy preparation method.

Health Benefits of Asparagus

  4. Folate - which when paired with vitamin B12 can help prevent cognitive impairment
  5. Contains the amino acid asparagine, which serves as a natural diuretic, thus, helping you to eliminate fluids and excess salts.
