I received a coupon from isatoritech.com for a free protein bar. I printed it off, and redeemed it at my local GNC. This is my iSatori Eat Smart Protein Bar Review. The flavor was frosted cinnamon caramel crunch. Now if that doesn't sound good, I don't know what does. Lets take a look at what is in the bar:
Now, this set of nutrition facts doesn't seem TOO bad. However, on the product packaging, it highlighted how this bar is low in sugar alcohols and how it contains whey hydrolysate for faster protein absorption. In my opinion, I do not need a fast absorbing protein bar. I don't typically eat protein bars following a workout, so the whey isolate and soy protein is fast enough. As far as the sugar alcohols go, I don't typically read into them very much, however 9 grams seems to be more than I see in other protein bars I have tried so I am not sure why isatori is commenting on how low this bar is in sugar alcohols. In any case, the bar tasted GREAT. I really enjoyed eating it. The 17grams of sugar and 9 grams of fat might be a little on the high side, however 27 grams of protein is solid, and the taste was very, very good.
Recommendation: go to http://www.isatoritech.com and get a coupon for a free bar. Then decide for yourself if they are "full-box" worthy.
