Today for lunch i was a little strapped for ingredients and had to dig deep into the freezer. We had just had tacos the night before so I had some fresh lettuce and tomato lying around and needed a protein to go with it. In the bottom of my freezer I found a frozen talapia filet and it came to me...FISH TACO! I knew for a good taco I needed a great sauce. I scoured the internet for homemade tartar sauce recipes to get an idea of what I would need for a base sauce and I came up with something that tasted awesome.

Ingredients

  • 1 Talipia Filet (or any white fish)
  • 3 leaves of lettuce
  • 2 slices of tomato
  • 1tbsp greek yogurt (fat free, plain)
  • 1 tbsp fat free mayo
  • splash of soy sauce
  • splash of hot sauce
  • splash of lemon juice
  • splash of pickle juice
  • lemon pepper seasoning
  • black pepper

Directions

  1. Fry the fish - season with lemon pepper
  2. In a bowl mix everything together (except the tomato and lettuce) to form a tarter sauce
  3. Place cooked fish on a 1-2 lettuce leaves, top with sauce and then with tomatoes
  4. Top with the remaining lettuce leaf
  5. Eat
