Recipe: Healthy Homemade Pepperoni Pizza

This healthy homemade pepperoni pizza is low in fat & calories and high in protein. It also only contains four ingredients which makes it extremely fast & simple to prepare. The crust ends up crispy and the pepperonis and cheese melt in your mouth. Try this healthy pepperoni pizza recipe along with our Clif Builder Hot Fudge Sundae made with high protein ice cream and you'll feel like you ditched out on your diet - it's that good! This is a healthy alternative to the Red Baron single pepperoni pizza (see below for comparison).

Ingredients:

  • 2 whole wheat 8 inch tortillas (*look for low fat tortillas to lower overall fat & calories in this recipe)
  • 9 turkey pepperonis
  • 1/4 c pizza sauce
  • 1/4c+ fat free mozzarella cheese

Cooking Instructions

  1. Pre-Heat Oven to 450
  2. Pre-heat skillet on medium high heat (on the stove top)
  3. Brown (but don't burn) both sides of both tortillas
  4. Place one tortilla on the counter and add a small amount of the cheese
  5. Top with the second tortilla
  6. Add 1/4c of pasta sauce on top of the second tortilla and spread around with a spoon
  7. Place 9 turkey pepperonis on the tortilla
  8. Top with remaining cheese (and snitch some extra if it looks too sparse)
  9. Place in oven for 4-6 minutes or until cheese is melted and edges start to brown (but don't burn your tortillas)
  10. Slice and enjoy!

  • Fat: 11g (8 of the fat grams come from the tortillas I used. If you can find something with lower fat, you'll save some fat grams here)
