I found this workout at the Men's Health website. It is called The Gronk. It is apparently a workout routine from Rob Gronkowski, a Tight End from the New England Patriots. Now since Luke is a Patriots fan, I knew I had to do this workout, that and the fact that Gronkowski is a Beast. The guy is a machine. He set the single season record for touchdowns by a tight end, and the most receiving yards in a season by a tight end. The dude is a physical freak too at 6'6 and 265 pounds, and he's ripped. I figured to be such a specimen, the guy has to know a thing or two about lifting weights, so I tried out his workout.
The workout is pretty chest heavy, which was fine with me, but we also got some good tricep work in, and a little bit of cardio. I really enjoyed this workout, and I was pretty pumped up by the end of it. I would definitely recommend giving it a shot.
Barbell Bench Press 1 set of 15 reps, 1 set of 12 reps, 1 set of 10 reps, and a final set of 8 reps.
Dumbbell Incline Press 1 set of 12 reps, 1 set of 10 reps, and a final set of 8 reps.
Chest Fly 1 set of 12 reps, 1 set of 10 reps, and a final set of 8 reps.
Pushups* As many as you can in 30 seconds. *Gronkowski performs this exercise on a vibrating platform.
Close-Grip Barbell Bench Press 3 sets of 10 reps.
Underhand-Grip Triceps Pressdown (I did tricep kickback) 3 sets of 10 reps.
Dip (weighted, if needed) 3 sets of 12 reps.
Burpees 1 set of 10 reps.
