I recently obtained a sample of the pre workout 12 Gauage Shotgun from VPX sports. I took this supplement prior to a pretty intense workout that I have completed in the past so I was confident I could give it a solid test. First of all, 12 Gauage Shotgun mixed very well and the taste was great. I was expecting it to turn color, but it mixed into a cloudy white mixture. It went down easy with no noticable chunks. About 20 minutes after downing the stuff, I could start to feel it kick-in - maybe a little bit too much. My heart was kind of racing and pounding a bit more than normal. During my workout I felt good, but mid-way through some of the really difficult supersets I started feeling like I was going to hurl. Not sure if it was due to the 12 Gauage Shotgun or because I was working my ass of, but nonetheless, the two other times I did this workout with a different pre workout supplement I did not quite feel this way.

I kind of wish I had another sample packet as I would love to try 1/2 or 3/4 of a scoop and see how that treated me, but as of now I am going to stick to my Assault and C4.

VPX 12 Gauage Shotgun Review Highlights

  • DMAA Free
  • Contains a patent pending covalently bonded creatine / leucine peptide molecule (not sure if this is good or not but they advertise it as being awesome)
  • Tasted great and mixed well
  • Effect was a little too strong for me for an entire scoop (and I'm a seasoned pre-workout user) - I need to try 1/2 to 3/4 scoop next time
  • Recommendation: Try Before You Buy
