Whey protein isolate is a pure form of protein. A true isolate will contain at least 90 percent pure protein and little to no fat, carbs or lactose.

A few facts:

  • Whey protein isolate is the highest yield of protein currently available.
  • Whey protein isolate comes from milk.
  • Because of it's chemical make-up, whey protein is the easiest protein that can be absorbed by muscles.
  • Whey protein isolate has a very high concentration of pure whey protein and BCAAs and therefore is widely regarded as the best type of whey protein to consume.
  • That being said, the high concentration will come at a premium price.

So is Whey Protein Isolate worth the extra money?
There is no clear cut answer to the question is whey protein isolate worth the extra money...and unfortunately the best answer is "It Depends"

  1. If you are lactose intolerant, yes - it is worth the money!
  2. If you have any other digestive issues - yes
  3. If money is not an object - yes
  4. If you think it is a miracle supplement that will give you extra gains - NO
  5. If your macros are very tight and you simply can not afford any extra fat or carbs - YES

I hope this clears up the question on Whey Protein Isolates, what they are and helps you decide if it worth paying the premium price.
