This is a review for the Whey Fantastic Protein Powder. I received a sample of this protein powder in my January fitbox from MyPlatinumbox.com. The product in general is marketed as a 100% Whey Protein powder that is all natural. Some of the highlights of this product include:
*rBST free- rBST is basically like human growth hormone for cows. It is used to beef up the cows into super milk producers. Whey Fantastic is free of the hormone rBST
*20grams of protein per serving
*taste was pretty good
*Poor Mixability
*high price per serving
The product as a whole was below average. One sample packet, or 2 scoops from a tub, contains 180 calories, 4.5 grams of fat, 6 grams of sugars, and 20 grams of protein. This is a decent nutrient profile and I had no issues here. I mixed the sample packet into 7 ounces of water (6-8oz. was recommended). The Vanilla flavor did have good taste with this amount of water, however, the product did not mix very well at all. It was completely grainy, and there was a large amount of powder that did not get mixed. When I added more water, this compromised the taste, and made it very watered down. I did not find a happy medium.
To go along with the poor mixability, is the high price per serving. On their website, www.wheyfantastic.com, a 12 serving tub sells for $25. This is over $2 per serving, which is out of my price range for a whey protein powder.
